HOW TO TAKE CARE OF OUR IMMUNE SYSTEM?

The arrival of spring means joy, sun and good weather... but for many people this season means facing the dreaded allergies and spring asthenia for another year .

We notice allergies through symptoms such as runny nose, itchy eyes and/or throat irritation, due to pollen and other substances from nature that can alter the proper functioning of the immune system. Asthenia , perhaps less known, is characterized by a feeling of tiredness and lack of vitality, both physically and intellectually, which can impact our energy levels and performance, due to the extra energy demand that adapting to changes implies. sudden changes in temperature and the longer days.

In order to cope with these uncomfortable symptoms, there is an organ that needs special attention: the liver.

This is responsible for detoxifying our body from potentially harmful substances such as environmental toxins. Keeping it in good condition is essential so that allergic and therefore inflammatory processes can be detoxified correctly.

Spring is the season of the liver and
ideal time to do a detox.

But be careful, because under the label of detox a lot of pseudoscience is hidden... programs based on green juices or supplements that cost an arm and a leg, that is not detox . Supporting the different phases of liver detoxification can be done perfectly by using plants, vegetables, greens and natural supplements, in a very affordable way.

How can you support your liver function?
  • Increase the consumption of seasonal vegetables such as tomatoes, zucchini, eggplants, etc.
  • Increase the consumption of bitter green leaves to stimulate the secretion of enzymes: endive, watercress, dandelion, arugula, radish and radishes, etc.
  • Add infusions of milk thistle, artichoke, dandelion, boldo.
  • Include healthy fats in your meals: small oily fish, shellfish, nuts and seeds.
  • Add aromatics and spices to your dishes to give them flavor, color and a good variety of phytochemicals.
  • Decorate your dishes with sprouts and sprouts, as they concentrate many nutrients and beneficial substances. The most interesting are those of broccoli, due to its sulforaphane content.
  • If you can, add some interesting supplements such as: NAC (N-Acetylcysteine), Selenium, Curcumin, probiotics (lactobacillus and bifidobacteria), omega 3 EPA and DHA.
All these foods and supplements can help you, but don't forget that one of the best detox is physical exercise, and the best thing, it's free. By sweating we detoxify our body. Additionally, physical activity has a huge anti-inflammatory effect on your body.

Conclusion: the real food and exercise are the basis for keeping your immune system strong and face spring with energy and strength.

That's it for today's article, I hope it has been useful to you.
